Events in the north and northwest suburbs

This area covers a lot of ground, and events look different across it. Along the North Shore, in towns like Wilmette, Highland Park and Lake Forest, you’ll find country clubs, golf clubs and private homes hosting tented parties in the backyard. Around Schaumburg, events lean corporate: the village has a convention center hotel and a large base of corporate offices, including the U.S. headquarters of a number of Japanese companies there and in neighboring Hoffman Estates.

Farther out it gets quieter. McHenry County changes character as you go west; its western end is still mostly farms, and barn venues and farm weddings come with that. Lake County has its own inland lakes in addition to the Lake Michigan shore, and summer brings lake-house gatherings and waterfront receptions.

A couple of things to know for summer events up here. The wrap needs a hard, flat surface, so a backyard tent on a lawn needs a floor laid down first; your tent company can usually supply one, and we print to its dimensions. And because a wrap isn’t built for areas that stay wet, keep it off docks, pool decks and boat launches and put it under cover instead.

School events are another big part of the calendar. Evanston is home to Northwestern University, and high schools across these suburbs run proms, homecoming dances and after-prom parties. Homes and businesses in the north suburbs

Homes range from older houses near the lake in Evanston and the North Shore to newer subdivisions in Lake and McHenry counties. Finished basements, playrooms, home gyms and garages with smooth sealed floors are the usual places for a home wrap. See home floor wraps.

For businesses, the area around O’Hare has a dense cluster of industrial buildings. Elk Grove Village, right next to the airport, is home to what’s described as the largest consolidated business park in North America. Floor graphics there are mostly practical: aisle markers, forklift and pedestrian zones, directional arrows. Retailers around Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg and in downtown shopping districts like Arlington Heights and Libertyville can use entrance graphics and promo floors. Pricing

Pricing is the same here as everywhere in our core area. We charge $11 per square foot printed and installed, with a $750 minimum, or $8 per square foot if we print and ship it for you to install. Taking it up after the event is $350. Need artwork? Design from scratch is $150 flat. Rush jobs under 48 hours are 25% extra. For example, a 12×12 ft wrap printed and shipped is $1,152. North suburbs questions

Is McHenry County inside your install area?

Yes. McHenry and Lake counties are both part of our core install area, including Crystal Lake, Woodstock, McHenry and Libertyville. Anything beyond those counties gets a quote that includes travel.

Can you wrap the floor of a tent in our backyard?

Yes, if the tent has a hard floor. Lawns, pavers with gaps and sloped patios need a subfloor or rented dance floor first. Send us the tent size and flooring plan with your request.

We’re planning a school dance or after-prom. What do you need?

The school logo or colors, the date and the dance floor size. Most schools have rules for outside vendors in the building, so check with the activities office about access times.

Can you put a promo graphic at our store entrance?

Yes. We quote entrance and promo graphics per job. Tell us the size you want, how long it needs to stay down, and whether there’s a mat or threshold near the spot.
